On November 7, 2000, the people spoke: they elected Al Gore the 43rd president of the United States. Gore won the popular vote as well as the electoral vote -- Florida by estimates of at least 20,000 votes. He's not allowed to serve, but the voice of the people cannot be silenced. To show President Gore that we recognize the will of the people, take a few minutes to write him a letter at:
Office of the Honorable Al Gore
2100 West End Avenue
Suite 790
Nashville, Tennessee 37203
After you write your letter, make sure to send copies to:
- The White House
- Your senators
- The major national newspapers
- The New York Times
- The Washington Post
- USA Today
- the Democratic National Committee (DNC).
- If you don't mind, please send us a copy of your letter at letterstogore@hotmail.com.
Click on the links above for e-mails and web addresses, or send snail mail to the addresses listed below.
Please note:Writing to the DNC or sending a copy of your letter is especially important. Not all Democrats have the courage to speak out and decry the theft of the election. Some are ready to "move on," as the Republicans would want us to. But we won't go anywhere and we won't forget. That's why we need to let the DNC know (1) that we want them to continue to speak up about what happened, and (2) that we support President Al Gore.
