OBJECTIVES:
If elected, I shall diligently serve the district with vision and value. I shall work tirelessly toward achieving the following objectives:
- Increase the number of vocational course offerings and academic
programs available so that students may choose from among vocational
programs providing valuable job training, and academic degree-oriented
programs designed to prepare the student for advanced study at a four-year
college or university.
- Offer state-of-the-art training programs in computer internet-related technologies and biotechnologies to provide graduates entry-level skills to qualify for jobs in the industry.
- Ensure the transfer of academic earned credits to State and private colleges or universities through the improved Articulation Agreement between LMC and four-year colleges or universities.
- Increase student assistance programs, financial aids, federal and state grants, scholarships, including basic skills improvement classes, and tutoring assistance.
- Encourage concurrent enrollment in math, science, and technology.
- Respect the rights of teachers and classified staffs, and support salaries commensurate with their status in a challenging professional arena.
- Provide a positive learning experience and foster an inclusive,
student-friendly environment.
- Encourage State legislators to provide appropriate fundings based on Proposition 98, the voter approved split funding initiative between K-12 and community colleges.
