Rolie Polie Olie

Yes, my daughter named him and if you are familiar with the cartoon, you will recognize that he is "small and smart and round."

Rolie's base is constructed of expanded PVC from Lynxmotion, originally bought to modify my Hexapod II, Xanthus.
A quick shot to show how the dome connects. These pins are actually needle bearings that I was starting to wonder why I had saved. They fit perfectly into the M3 hole in the standoff and the slight misalignment gives enough friction to hold it on tight. This completely re-affirms my belief in PackRatism
A side view showing the power and programming switches. The top switch is a DPDT that shorts MODA and MODB to ground to put the 68HC11F1 into "Special bootstrap" mode for downloading new programs. The 4 pin connector just below the top LEDs is for TTL level serial communication.
And a view of the whole robot. Notice the wheel sensors showing on either side of the sonar. I am currently getting about 1cm resolution from the sensors, and have just begun writing software. We'll see if it is accurate enough.
