MPD Low Profile Intake Adapters

MPD began fabricating low profile intake adapters in 1971. The first was a Jacuzzi W model for the circle race boat of Phil Trichler, "Peacemaker". Later versions were based on the Bayjet "R" casting and used in several winning drag and circle boats. The current version was designed in 1992 for use in the new PGJ of Jerry Hicks, "Hot Tub". Another was fabricated for Jim Guthrie's CJ, "Thinline II". Both boats set records. Next came Joe LaKamp's SkiJet "BobSnipper" and Keith Zellmer's PGJ "Risky Business". Those two set records.

Other current racers are:

Tom Bandy's "Tomcat", 2008 UFJ Champ - 2008 8.0 Champ.

Chris Starkweather's "Stark Naked" - 2008 8.0 runner up.

Kjell Adams' "Widowmaker" - 2008 9.50 Champ.

Joe Morgan's "Here Comes Whitey" - 2nd time out ET 7.75.

Intake adapters with concave loader pad areas create a poor transition area from keel to suction piece roof. Water has a hard time following this shape at high speed.
