Roche Rant
This is just my humble opinion.
I can certainly appreciate the idea of not getting pregnant while on Accutane. I think the pictures of the deformed babies on the package are actually a good idea. A daily visual reminder. I think the idea that they insist all women of child bearing age use birth control is a good idea, too.
My complaint is having to "prove" to them I am using two forms of birth control. How I prevent getting pregnant is none of their business. I also refused to sign up for their "survey". I don't need a drug company monitoring my sex life. The people who are having deformed Accutane babies are not going to be filling out their stupid survey.
There is a huge gap in the Anti Pregnancy Campaign logic. You have to sign papers saying you will use two forms of bc at all times, unless you say that you are "abstinate"
I can see how that one plays out: a young girl goes to the derm with her parents, the doc says 'you have to use bc while on this drug' and the girl says 'oh no, doc, I'm a virgin' The parents don't want their little girl having sex, so they all agree she's "abstinate".
Yeah, that'll work.
No possibility that the little virgin could be lying, or that even if she's a saint at the moment, 3 months from now could meet the boy of her dreams... ooops. I think it would be much better to make us sign papers that say "if I get pg I will not have the baby" Of course, I can see where a lot of people would have a problem with that.
