Week Four 02/17/03 - 02/23/03

02/12/03

My face is peeling a lot and the spots under the peeling are red. Makeup sort of covers it. I feel like I'm molting. At night and during the day if I'm at home, I smear Aquaphor on the dry spots and it really seems to help.

I saw the doctor and he said I'm doing fine. I was worried that the amount of water I'm drinking might be washing away the effect of the Accutane, since I'm not having many side effects. He said "Don't worry, it's working. You definitely have the 'Accutane Look'" He also said that people on their second or third course seem to have less problems with side effects and that after the first month, my skin should start to clear up. That was good news, although I'm still expecting breakouts and peeling skin for the entire five months. At least that's the way it was the first time.

I'm getting some pimples on my neck and lower back, near my waist. These are brand new acne sites for me. I think the ones on my neck might be from really dry skin, so I'm putting Aquaphor on them too. Oh, and my EARS are peeling. Also, my skin is fragile, so I have to be careful when scratching. I scratched a spot on my wrist and it started to bleed. Lots of moisturizer seems to help the "itchies" too.

So, here's the key: water, Aquaphor, moisturizer. And more water.

I'll only be updating once a month from now on, unless something really exciting happens.
