Here are two samples of music showing what most of the manuscripts look like. All pages are 9-1/2" by 12-1/2" in size. When professionally copied the music is easier to read because the backgrounds are white.

Sample 1:	"Oofy" “Tenor Sax A" part. This part is written for tenor sax and soprano sax (2 pages). Click on each page to see a larger sample
Sample 2:	"Oofy" RC part. This part is the "Richard Cary" part -- the part which Dick Cary wrote for himself to play. It is the conductor's part. Normally, it is written for either trumpet, piano or Eb alto horn. Sometimes, however it may be written as a "double" -- that is, it may include sections alternating between two of those instruments. In those cases, of course, the performer must be prepared! This RC part is written for trumpet only (2 pages). Click on each page to see a larger sample

Here is a brief description of some of the folios of original Dick Cary sheet music. About 2/3 of the catalogue is made up of Dick Cary original compositions. The other 1/3 is made up of arrangements of the compositions of others. Among those, the most frequently seen composers are Ellington, Gershwin, Porter, Richard Rodgers, Hoagy Carmichael, Victor Young.
