The Giro Nine.9 helmet is light and tough. Built for skiers and snowboards who spend all day every day in their helmets, the Nine.9 is designed for comfort. In-mold construction bonds a flylight shell to a high-performance EPS liner for an unbeatable strength-to-weight ratio. 12 supercharged vents are as cool as you want to be, with Weatherstrip vent plugs to seal warmth in and cold out. Removable earpads, the Giro Goggle Notch and gapless goggle fit are proven Giro features that round out the Nine.9. Giro will donate a portion of the White/Flames Nine.9 sales to benefit the fight against breast cancer through the Boarding for Breast Cancer Foundation. The Nine.9 is TuneUps compatible. –Vendor

Bottom Line: Use your head—wear the Nine.9.

Made of energy-absorbing DuPont Hytrel thermoplastic elastomer, a 2-stage flex-zone, and a tapered beam shape – the potentially injurious loads from snowboard falls are re-directed and spread-out more uniformly over the entire wrist and forearm to help reduce the incidence of wrist fractures. An extensive “prospective” research study currently underway by “Medicins de Montage” (Mountain Doctors), a group of 52 volunteer physicians based in Publier, France, suggests a 60% reduction in snowboard wrist fractures with the use of Flexmeter elastic wrist guards and gloves!

Presently, over 5,000 pair of Flexmeter elastic wrist guards and gloves have been sold in Europe, beginning February, 2003.

The Lange CRL 80 Women's alpine ski boot is designed for women who want a high performance boot, without the cramped feet and crushed toes. The CRL 80 isn't as stiff or low-volume as Lange's 100 series, so you can flex this boot without being on the World Cup workout program. The CRL 80 features Lange's Custom Naptural Concept liner, which holds a goose down inner lining for extra warmth on the slopes. This liner is thermo-moldable, and Lange is known for having one of the best stock liners on the market. Get this baby dialed in, and the thought of a pricey after-market liner will simply make you laugh. Tons of additional features, like micro-adjustable buckles and canting adjustments will help you take your skiing performance to the next level.

Bottom Line: Boots are the most important piece of gear any skier owns (you can boot-ski, but try skiing bootless). Choose wisely.

The Smith Prodigy Spherical Series goggles are simply genius. Designed to keep you riding all day fog-free, the Prodigy's patented Regulator airflow system lets you adjust your ventilation. From hiking (more vent) to hauling ass (less vent), you're in control. The Sperical lens also aids in fog prevention, letting you see clearly from Smith's extended vision range Carbonic-X distortion-free lenses. This Prodigy's medium-sized frame and CAD designed shape for ultimate helmet fit makes this goggle a unique phenomenon. Easy to replace lenses and a clip buckle strap keep the Prodigy sharp. Use the Prodigy Hop-Up kit to customize your frames for fame.

Bottom Line: Say no to fog.

The Black Diamond Ice Gloves feature densely padded knuckles for ice climbing that both protect and insulate. A waterproof stretch insert keeps your hands dry and warm. Made out of Schoeller Extreme four-way stretch fabric, the Ice Glove curves and stretches with your hand rather than against it. Fully articulated fingers and a Pittard goatskin leather palm allow you to get a good grip on tools, place ice screws, and climb with a full range of motion.

Bottom Line: Ice on hands bad!

Comfort is the cornerstone on this board. A Directional Progressive sidecut makes your riding improve quicker with more confidence in riding a greater variety of terrain.

These are winter 2004/2005 snowboards.

FEATURES:

The Fischer Big Stix 7.6 RailFlex2 pairs the Big Stix 7.6 with the FX12 RailFlex2 binding for a smooth riding system. The Big Stix 7.6 has a more fluid, consistent flex and is 21% lighter than its 03-04 predecessor. It is the perfect ski to attack the whole mountain whether on the groomers or in the untracked. The Carbon Fiber Chassis core construction keeps this ski quiet and stable, an advantage over its competitors in the mid-70mm waist category. The FX12 features a diagonal release to efficiently eject you in backward, twisting falls. The mounting plate melds the binding and ski together for a responsive, precise set-up. –Vendor

Bottom Line: These skis and bindings were made for each other, but ultimately made for you.
