           AUTHORITIES ABANDON SEARCH FOR AIRCRAFT

BLOOMINGTON -- Police and firefighters on Sunday called off their search
for a plane reported down in Monroe County after finding no wreckage.

Steve McClain, a conservation officer with the Indiana Department of Natural
Resources, said he suspected something else caused the explosion heard by two
witnesses and the fireball seen by a third.

"This area's pretty desolate," he said. "...It could have been somebody play-
ing around with some type of homemade explosive or fire bomb type thing,"

Indiana State Police Cpl. Rick Wright said a witness, who happened to be a
pilot, reported seeing a plane crash around 8:50 P.M. Saturday.

Two others heard the explosion, police said. But McClain said a thorough
search of the wooded, hilly area found nothing. A helicopter with infrared
swooped over the area Saturday night, and a plane went over it for four
hours on Sunday.

Ground crews included state and county police, DNR officers, the Perry-Clear
Creek fire department and U.S. Forestry officers.

The search was abandoned about 2 p.m. Sunday, McClain said. "With no outcome
to it and nobody being reported as missing... we don't have to much to go on
for now," he said.

SEARCH TEAMS IN Monroe COUNTY SPENT LAST NIGHT AND MUCH
OF TODAY... LOOKING FOR SOMETHING THAT MAY NOT EVEN
EXIST-- A DOWNED AIRPLANE. LAST NIGHT, RESIDENTS NEAR
LAKE MONROE SAW LIGHTS AND A FIREBALL ...AND THEN HEARD
AN EXPLOSION. SO FAR, THOUGH, NO ONE HAS REPORTED A
PLANE-- OR A PERSON--missing. MARILYN CARTER REPORTS.

[PLANE--P]

"If they're at the bottom, they ought to come back." The numbers on the map
represent search and rescue teams fanned out in the dense and desolate
Hoosier National Forest. They're looking for people, for wreckage, for clues
to what may have happened last night. And they're not discounting any
theories. (Steve McClain =Searched through the night) "It could be someone
out here playing around and possibly could have exploded something that
created a fireball. That's purely speculation on our part." (Tony Wilson=
Indiana Conservation Officer) "It happens in Florida but it has happened
here too where they fly low and then drop drugs out. Ya, it could happen,
but we have no confirmation of course." Another element to this mystery is
the lake. It's possible if it was an airplane it could have gone down in the
lake, but again, it's sheer speculation. So far, nothing has turned up on
Lake Monroe, but fishermen were among those who heard a loud explosion.
This couple actually saw what appeared to be landing lights and the sub-
sequent flash from their remote home near the southern tip of the lake.
He is a retired pilot and convinced it was a plane. Yesterday's warm weather
attracted quite a few campers to the forest. No one has reported seeing
anything, but a few did hear something. (Amy Butler=Camper) "I was laying
awake, I couldn't really sleep and I heard a lot of airplanes. I couldn't
tell if it was just one or many, sounded like many circling around, but I
didn't think anything of it." Those airplanes were part of the search team,
and even with infrared heat sensing devices, turned up nothing. The rescue
effort would be a lot easier, if they knew exactly what they were looking for.
But look they must. Too many people heard and saw something. In Monroe county,
Marilyn Carter six news.

LATE THIS AFTERNOON THE SEARCH WAS CALLED OFF, AFTER
NOTHING WAS FOUND.

[SEARCH ]

A SEARCH OF THE HOOSIER NATIONAL FOREST IN MONROE
COUNTY WAS CALLED OFF TODAY, AFTER NO PEOPLE OR PLANE
TURNED UP. POLICE AND CONSERVATION OFFICERS COMBED A
SIX SQUARE MILE AREA. THE SEARCH WAS ORGANIZED AFTER
SEVERAL PEOPLE REPORTED HEARING AN EXPLOSION LAST NIGHT,
AND ONE WITNESS REPORTED SEEING A PLANE. AUTHORITIES CAN
ONLY GUESS WHAT IT COULD HAVE BEEN. "It could be someone out here
playing around and possibly could have exploded something that
created a fireball. That's purely speculation on our part."

A HELICOPTER SEARCH LASTNIGHT ALSO TURNED UP NOTHING.

THE NEWS REPORTED A CRASH OF A SMALL AIRCRAFT IN THE HOOSIER NATIONAL FOREST
ON MARCH 30. WAS IT ACTUALLY A UFO CRASH?

From: Roswell Rosie
Subject: Crash last night? (Saturday)

Just grabbed this from the IRC session I was in:

*** ALindy () has joined #ufo
(ALindy) I am a Television Producer/Photographer In Indianapolis,Indiana.
I am wanting to talk to someone about a strange occurance last night
(Renard1) Alindy: Talk away, we are listening
(ALindy) If you are for real and know someone in Paranormal Investigations,
Msg me.
(ALindy) o.k.
(Tianca) You might want to get into the Newsgroups to look for someone like
that.
(Renard1) ALindy: Talk please, we are seeker of knowledge
(Tianca) Put an ad in one of the paranormal groups.
(Tianca) Believe me, it works.
(ALindy) Last night in the Hoosier National forest south of Indianapolis
about 10:30p.m. last night. 10 campers reported an aircraft crash...
(Tianca) And?
(ALindy) They described a Flash, then a fireball
(ALindy) We were dispatched to cover the story...We talked to 8 of the 10
eyewitnesses..
(Renard1) And the craft???
(ALindy) all the storys are the same...
(Tianca) Go on!
(Tianca) This is cool!
(Renard1) a good story
(ALindy) they saw a flash, and then about 40 seconds later an explosion...
(Tianca) Is there anything left of the ship?
(Renard1) Craft??
(ALindy) Today the Forest Service conducted a search of the area...By foot
only....this seemed strange to all of us at work here...then they called off
the search.
(ALindy) Nothing was found
(Renard1) ????
(Tianca) Was the government involved?
(ALindy) We contacted the military
(Tianca) And?
(ALindy) they have no information for us
(Renard1) Was there an aiport near????
(Tianca) Did anyone see this on radar?
(ALindy) It just seems strange to me that 10 eyewitnesses saw something and
they only searched for it for 5 hours...the 3mile area where the people saw
the light. It is now closed
(Tianca) I bet it is.
(ALindy) No airport and no radar
(Tianca) That sounds like the government to me.
(Renard1) Any strange aircraft activity now???
(Tianca) Unless they were told to forget what they saw.
(ALindy) I am not a crackpot..I work for an NBC affiliate here in
Indianapolis..
(Renard1) NBC
(Tianca) What is going on now?
(Renard1) POWER
(ALindy) This is the first strange story I have ever been involved with.
(Tianca) Boy, you picked a good one to start out on!
(Renard1) Any onther details???
(ALindy) Renard...Our executive producer used to produce the show The
INVESTIGATORS...He is buzzing on this story..
(ALindy) He will not let this story die...
(Renard1) Good
(ALindy) I am sure of it
(Tianca) Good.
(Tianca) But he might not have a choice.
(Renard1) If the government is involved, he won't
(ALindy) I have that feeling..I am GUNG-HO in going back...the strange thing
is that WE ARE THE ONLY NEWS STATION in CENTRAL INDIANA with a HELICOPTER...
and WE DIDNT USE IT!
(Tianca) People loose their jobs, and sometimes their lives, if they try to
buck the government.
(Renard1) So what about the witenesses, young...
(ALindy) I cant get a straight answer why...I mean We got a report that there
was a downed aircraft...we put the chopper up for a housefire...why not a
downed aircraft in the forrest..
(ALindy) It is so F****** frustrating..I am sitting here on a REAL STORY
HERE)..\
(Tianca) Yeah, I know how you feel.
(ALindy) And I cant get any co-operation
(ALindy) What newsgroups can I post to?
(might) ALindy/ what part of indiana(exactly)
(ALindy) I need to do something...I am not going to let this DIE
(ALindy) I will give you the exact town..BRB
(Renard1) Hmmm, just a thougt, could be a military satellite, an UFO, a
"special" plane we...test...???
(ALindy) The nearest town is Bloomington,IN
(Renard1) Really deep into the forest???
(ALindy) YES
(ALindy) about 8 miles
(might) Alindy what was the name of the park, please?
(ALindy) There is an OLD I mean OLD Naval weapons support center about 70
miles south of the location
(ALindy) Hoosier National Forest
(ALindy) My E-mail is (Stricken--no permission to make public... editor).
(ALindy) There is also camp Atterberry around the sight. about 50miles to
the north
(Renard1) Number of witnesses
(ALindy) 10
(Renard1) Ages??
(ALindy) NONE would talk on camera NOT ONE
(Renard1) The government was there BEFORE you
(ALindy) range from I think 18-40
(Renard1) Was there any government officials there when you arrived
(ALindy) It happend around 10:30p.m. we didnt get ther till about 10am
(ALindy) There were forestry service trucks there...They kinda look like
military..
(Renard1) Was there anyone who wasn't suposed to be there when you arrived??
(ALindy) I dont think so...
(Renard1) And the search lasted until 5:00
(ALindy) News organizations were there...we went into a tower that gives you
a clear view....
(Renard1) And any part of the forest was ...missing??
(ALindy) search lasted until 5p.m.. It was called off because they could find
no evidence...
(Renard1) Crushed by a crash?
(ALindy) I could see nothing
(Renard1) And was the view good??
(ALindy) Hey if you would like to drop me an E-mail with your mailing address
...I could send you a VHS copy of
the Report
(ALindy) It is rainy today..Cloudy
(Renard1) I'm in canada, probably a bit to far
(ALindy) The forrest is about 60sq miles
(Renard1) Any aircraft passed over the area???
(Renard1) Any MIB where present???
(ALindy) NO I was listening for helicopters
(ALindy) Nothing..no plane nothing
(ALindy) MIB?
(Renard1) Men In Black...
(Renard1) Very common..normal...as every body around...unsually normal
(ALindy) Not that I could see..There were casually dressed men there...
(Renard1) Usualy dressed in Black
(ALindy) Unusually casually dressed
(Renard1) Abnormaly normal
(ALindy) Not like campers or the press..
(Renard1) Like any Government official...
(ALindy) It is hard to explain
(ALindy) Kinda
(Renard1) Not casual...more like officials clothing
(Renard1) Like a suit, with a long coat
(ALindy) Not the usual government looking guys
(ALindy) they had cell phones...
(Renard1) Well, the usual
(Renard1) Probably... the government knows how to equip his people
(Renard1) They have the function of shutting up UFO witnesses (or protect
whatever secret
(ALindy) We left there with FAR more questions than answers.
(Renard1) I see that
(Renard1) Even think about cutting the trees...etc, so all evidence in
cleared
(ALindy) Renard...I am going to hit the Newsgroups... I will update ya...
(ALindy) See ya later..thaks for listening
(Renard1) Thanks for nothing, I'm looking for that kind of data
(ALindy) I will keep ya posted

                                           Note:

A correction to this page was made today. This was done to alleviate any
possible misunderstanding of this article. Deb's comment's were previously
(and inadvertantly) included in the news text portion of this page. If that
caused anyone to believe that we or any other news source are absolutely
avowing that this crash was a UFO and the government is now covering it up,
then we apologize. Deb's comments are now in the editorial section where they
belong.

We still believe that the coincidence of the two incidents should cause the
public to be alert to the information and ask questions so that this DOESN'T
become another Roswell incident.

Perhaps what crashed was a piece of space junk, or a meteorite, or perhaps a
military aircraft... or perhaps, it was a UFO. We don't know. But enough
people are asking, and no answer has been provided, and the search was
concluded without an explanation to the public. In our viewpoint, and the
viewpoint of all responsible investigators, the cause of this crash remains
UNKNOWN.

This should cause us all to wonder, and ask questions. If we find evidence,
or are provided with evidence which reinforces any valid theory, we will
publish it in the effort to find the truth. That is what this web site is
published to do.

Thank you

Dave Kauble

                                            (Headline)

LATE WINTER STORM LEAVES HOOSIER NATIONAL FOREST A MESS.

Evansville, Ind. (AP)--Last month's late winter snowstorm, which dumped more
than a foot of heavy wet, snow on some parts of southern Indiana, also left
the Hoosier National Forest littered with thousands of downed trees.

The scores of toppled tress, particularly pines and cedars, are blocking
trails, threatening to delay the spring opening of recreational areas,
a park offical says.

The trees are in a weakened state anyway. When you have high winds and heavy
snow, they can't take it," said Cid Morgan, ecosystem program manager for the
federal park, which spans seven southern Indiana counties.

Morgan said a helichopter flyover with a forestry expert is planned around
April 16th to fully assess damage to the park. She said cedars and pines,
because of their full foliage, bore the brunt of the 11 to 18 inches of snow
that fell in the forest. High winds that accompanied the heavy snowfall then
snapped off the tops of the trees or uprooted them, she said.

Some hardwoods were damaged, but they weathered the storm better than the
conifers. The damage was in pockets throughout the forest, but appeared most
widespread below ridgetops, she said.

Morgan said it will take years to completely clean up the trail system.

Volunteers already are coming in to help clean up the trails, and the Forest
Service plans to request more money and assistance, Morgan said. But she says
the number of downed trees will increase the threat of forest fires this fall.

Damage was heavy at Saddle Lake, German Ridge and Celina Lake recreational
areas in Perry County and Hardin Ridge in Monroe County. Celina Lake was
supposed to open March 30th, but due to the damage, it won't be open for
at least another two weeks, she said.

A number of other southern Indiana parks, including Harmonie State Park in
Posey County and Spencer's Lincoln State Park, sustained damage in the late
March storm.

                            COMMENTARY
                          Deb's comment:

(Debbie Jordan): Sounds like another "anthrax scare" to me, re: "Close
Encounters of the Third Kind" They've had plenty of time to clean up any mess
they might have had that would interfered with opening. They've had snows like
that before and it never stopped them from going for the almighty dollar in
visitor revenues.)

(editor): Indiana HAS applied for and received approval for Federal emergency
relief for snowfall and severe winter weather conditions in Indiana; however,
information provided publicly indicates that this primarily relates to
expenditure relief for snow removal and road maintenance, and was not
explained as monies to be spent on maintenance of the Hoosier National Forest.

It seems very strange to us that the park would NOW be closed. If such damage
was a threat to individuals visiting the park, since people have been in the
park for quite some time since the storms occurred. The number of people who
saw and heard the incident cause us to be extremely skeptical of what we're
being told about the Hoosier National Forest incident.

Back to the UFO Evidence...
