Three independent witnesses from two
separate locations observe a glowing
red light traverse sky from north to
south. The object was witnessed by a
former Air Force officer who operated
the Hawk Missile System during the
Gulf War. He was trained at Ft. Bliss
and had extensive experience in
aircraft identification. The witness
stated that the glowing red object
was surrounded by four F-14 fighter
jets. The jets, according to the
observer, strangely had no sound as
they traveled directly overhead. The
red object vanished from sight, but
the jets "continued on, as if they
were looking for it." Jets said to be
equipped with some kind of "HUSH
KITS."

July 4, 1996
Paulding, Paulding County, OH; 8:30 A.M.
A pilot flying a small airplane over
the vicinity spots a 93-foot crop
circle in a field. Upon landing, the
pilot drives to the site and informs
the owners of the property, who in
turn contacts the local sheriff's
office. The circle had a "swirl"
pattern. A team of researchers from
East Michigan University take a
radiation survey and finds that the
circle is radioactively hot, at which
time the sheriff cordons off the area
with police tape. Dr. Wm. C.
Levengood, a biophysicist from Grass
Lake, Michigan, presented his
preliminary laboratory results from
his investigations, and determined
that the Paulding circle is NOT
MAN-MADE. It was postulated that the
circle was caused by PLASMA BURSTS
from an atmospheric aberration.

Middletown, Butler County, OH; 9:50 P.M.
Multiple persons telephoned the
police department to get answers
regarding a "glowing red light" seen
hovering over residential
neighborhoods. The red light was also
seen from the Carlisle Park Apartment
Complex, four miles to the north. The
object was photographed and
videotaped, and multiple witnesses
said a second, smaller object was
present. Some claimed the second
object "dropped" from the first,
while another witness that observed
through binoculars stated that the
second object "orbited" the first
before finally "merging" with it.
Some persons contended that the
object "shot off" at an incredible
pace or "appeared suddenly" over
their homes. There were unfounded
rumors that a special military plane
was seen at the Middletown Airport
during the time duration of the
event. Several officers with the
Middletown Police Department observed
the object hovering over the
Emergency Room Entrance of the
Middletown Hospital for a 45 minute
duration. There were over 30 calls to
the police department, and rough
estimates place the witness tally at
greater than 300 persons. (Police
report and dispatch audio copies
obtained by TASK, as well as video
and witness observation reports.) The
story hit newspapers the following
Wednesday and made national news on
AP and USA Today.

Hundreds of persons again report red
object hovering over city, dropping
"flare-like" particles downward. TASK
investigator Dale Farmer is on hand
to view and videotape the incident.
The Middletown Police Department
contacts the Dayton International
Airport for assistance. The airport
tower operators vectors the pilot of
a small airplane into the vicinity.
The pilot circles his airplane around
the object five times at very close
range (as seen on the Farmer video).
The object holds its position for
nearly one hour before disappearing
from sight. Farmer tracks the pilot
of the plane back to the Middletown
airport, where the pilot informs
everyone that the object seen was a
very complex balloon device, which
was comprised of eight to ten
"gigantic, helium-filled balloons"
with a sophisticated platform
suspended from underneath. Situated
on the platform was a cunningly
crafted arrangement of flares, which
would enable one flare to ignite just
as another was about to extinguish.
The falling particles seen dropping
from the object was the spent flare,
as it fell away from the strange
concoction.

County, OH; 3:50 A.M.
Area resident places phone call to
Clermont County Sheriff's Department
advising them of a UFO that is
hovering in field adjacent to
residence. Object is described as a
glowing red light. Upon arrival of
patrol cruisers, the object
reportedly lowers into the foliage
and its glow extinguishes. After
patrol cruiser departs scene, the
object lifts again to its previous
position and its luminosity returns.
The resident again calls Clermont
County Sheriff's Department,
whereupon they dispatch three patrol
cruisers to the scene. The object
again reportedly lowers into the
foliage at the approach of the patrol
cruisers, where they spend nearly 15
minutes searching and scanning the
field with their spotlights.
Sheriff's office said that no
department official had placed any
"anomalous observation." According to
the resident, the object did not
reemerge again until 45 minutes after
the second departure of the patrol
cruisers. She did not call again. The
object remained visible for an
extended duration, hovering in place
until it allegedly "winks out." Only
one known witness to event.

A W.Va. family watching a movie at a
drive-in reported a strange formation
of seven or eight colored lights
shoot across the sky, flying at
approximately 40 degrees above the
horizon. Their appearance was said to
have been like street lights in a
very heavy fog. Traveling in a "V"
formation at a very high rate of
speed, much faster than commercial or
known military aircraft. Estimate
that their total time of over-flight
to be three to four seconds, flying
from north to south.

A police official employed within the
Clermont County region was contacted
by phone regarding an alleged UFO
sighting on Route 727 at 10 P.M. The
officer, whose identity TASK will not
disclose, advised that he had
personally witnessed a "funky green
light" (his words) earlier in the
evening. When asked if he thought it
could have been a UFO, the officer
stated that he "had never seen
anything like it before in his life."
The officer was reminded by the
caller of routine Airborne Express
traffic which approaches and departs
from Wilmington Airport, twenty-five
miles to the north, but remained very
silent and did not express any
opinion. Officer added that the
object disappeared from view as he
drove into a clearing.

A woman claimed that a UFO hovered
"half a telephone pole high" over the
roadway, and was "pretty close" to
her car. The object was said to be an
oval-shaped light, and no aircraft
engine sound could be heard. The
woman advised family members of the
event, which was said to involve
three witnesses in two different
automobiles. TASK has made repeated
attempts to contact the witness who
told family members of the event (The

woman is regarded as an uncooperative
witness, as she refuses to speak with
TASK investigators regarding this,

S.R. 68 (Bellfountaine & Kenton),
Hardin County, OH; 11:00 P.M.
An area resident reports three UFO
sightings between 11:00 P.M. and
11:30 P.M. The witness alerted
Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, and
subsequently advised TASK afterwards
The first sighting took place about
three miles north of Bellefountaine
on Rte 68, where a bright red light
centered between two white lights was
observed. An additional white light
was also noted, which made a
triangular shape with the other white
lights. The red light was centered in
the triangular pattern, and detached
from the main object and allegedly
descended slowly to the ground for
over a 5-minute duration before
"extinguishing." The lights on the
main object remained constant as it
moved slowly and soundlessly while
flying at or below the altitude of a
small airplane. Ten minutes after
this sighting, the witness reported a
bright red light similar to the
previous red light, and to the north
of the original location. Five
minutes later on Rt. 68 near Kenton,
a third sighting happened in which an
object very similar to the first was
visible, but, without the red light.
She also believes this to be the same
object. The object was last seen low
in the sky near the Kenton airport
The witness placed a telephone call
to this airport, but there was no
answer. A phone call made by TASK to
the Hardin County Sheriff存
Department revealed that a separate
area resident had telephoned the
dispatch office at 9:00 P.M. to
advise of "low-flying aircraft."
Officials at the airport advised that
"touch and go" training maneuvers
were conducted earlier in the day,
but were called off at dusk, and
furthermore stated that the exercises
were conducted by a certified flight
instructor, and did not violate
airspace regulations by flying low
over homes.

Flaugher Hill Road (Aberdeen), Brown
County, OH; 8:30 P.M.
Two witnesses, husband and wife,
observed a brilliant flash that lit
up the surroundings, followed by an
aerial phenomenon described as an
"orange-ish light" that appeared and
disappeared, then reappeared in a
different part of the sky. The object
seemed to "stall out and hover," and
was visible to the north of their
location. The Brown county resident
volunteered that he had "never seen
anything like it before" in his life,
and stated that he felt certain
"something big is going on." The wife
was reported in "near hysteria" by
the event, and advised that a phone
call was placed to the Brown County
Sheriff存 Department and also to the
Brown County Post of the Ohio State
Highway Patrol before 10:00 P.M. on
October 16 regarding the incident.
Dispatchers at these agencies
curiously stated that there was no
record of such calls were placed to
their facilities on the date in
question during telephone inquiries
made on Friday and Saturday, October
18 and 19.

Ripley, Brown County, OH; 8:37 P.M.
Two persons contacted by telephone
from above family, step outside and
also observed an orange object that
allegedly changed shape. Initially
seen as a bright orange-red light
(more reddish), the object appeared
from an area in the direction of
Manchester, Ohio, and was also said
to "appear and disappear." Also noted
were numerous other aircraft that
were flying about the area. The
husband placed call to a Bethel
resident (Clermont County) and
advises them of the matter. The
object was said to appear as three to
four lights in a straight line, and
two or three lights in a diagonal
line, forming a "T" shape. At one
point, the lights separated and moved
off in divergent directions.

Outside of Chillicothe, Ross County,
OH; 8:45 to 9:00 P.M.
Multiple witnesses observe an aerial
phenomenon in the skies above Ross
County, which is north of the Brown
County region. A Chillicothe radio
station, WKKJ 93.3 FM, received
dozens of phone calls regarding the
event, where it was the topic of
conversation the following day. The
Ross County Sheriff存 Department also
was advised by numerous area
residents. An officer was sent to
investigate. Wright-Patterson Air
Force Base was alerted of the
situation by the Ross County Dispatch
Office. An area resident recorded
several minutes of home video footage
of the phenomenon, which was
described as an object that would
"appear and disappear." It was also
described as an object with "lights
rotating around it in a circle." The
camera operator stated to TASK
researchers that he had to wait for a
duration with his camera so that the
object would "reappear." The
videotape was subsequently acquired
by a Channel 10 News from Columbus,
Ohio, and broadcast on the Thursday
and Friday night newscasts.
