The following cases are from the recent UFO flap taking place near
Winnepeg, Manitoba and surrounding areas as reported by UFOROM. Any

A witness was driving west at sunrise when she saw a brilliant,
yellow-white object "a foot off the horizon" in the south. It had a
tail "pointing up and to the right" (i.e. west) and was "going down."

At noon on June 19, a man and woman were in their home near Lockport
when, looking out their living room window, they saw a shiny, metallic
object moving in the bright blue sky. Having a camcorder handy, they
videotaped the object as it looped and arced in the sky near some
trees that were approximately one mile away. As it maneuvered, the
object appeared to bank and reflect sunlight occasionally. After it
performed the turns, it moved behind the trees out of sight. The
witnesses were looking north throughout the sighting, and the object
appeared to come from and return to an area north of them. After the
object left, the witnesses continued to watch and later saw an
airplane moving just above the treeline. They were convinced that the
original object did not look or move like an airplane. The videotape
clearly shows the distant "daylight disc" moving in the sky.
Using distant trees as references, the object was judged to be at
least 0.75 mile distant, but probably not more than 2 miles away.
Basic trigonometry of the image on the video suggests the object was
approximately 6 feet in diameter.

triangular grouping of three bright lights. From her home in west
Winnipeg, she said she could see the lights moving slowly as if they
were on a dark object.

blue, disc-shaped object that dropped out of the clouds and headed
north towards Winnipeg.

A UFO was seen Sunday night, July 2, 1995, at about 11:30 pm. Three
witnesses were in a boat near Pipestone Portage by Andrew Bay in Lake
of the Woods when they saw a bright green object above them and to the
south. The object was "flashing regularly, like an airplane" as it
traversed the sky from horizon tohorizon, east to west. It took'
between 6 and 10 seconds for its flight before it disappeared from
view. The witnesses were sure it was not a plane or a fireball.

night before. He said he was "terrified." He recalls that there were
two beings standing near his bed and he was unable to move. "I was
pinned down," he said. The beings had dark almond shaped eyes and had
a malevolence about them. He believes the beings were there because
they considered him "one of them."

6:45AM was outside his house on Ferry Road when he looked up and saw a
"round, black object" moving WSW. It was first noticed directly
overhead, then it moved so that it was at a 45 degree altitude. It
travelled at a steady speed and moved in and out of clouds as it flew.
The witness was sure it was not an airplane, as he lives near the
airport and is familiar with the appearance of aircraft.

La Broquerie,

"On July 21, 1995, at l:00am I witnessed a thing (flashing light)
above La Broquerie, MB. I looked up because a noise got my attention;
it sounded like a bird screeching noise (hawk). What I saw was what
appeared to be a plane with flashing lights travelling southeast quite
rapidly. The altitude was hard to estimate - perhaps 1 - 2 miles. It
then made a sharp direction change to WNW. It then slowed down and
hovered directly overhead for about 10 seconds. At that point, it got
dimmer and slowly continued WNW (towards Winnipeg but slightly north).
I'm not sure if the noise was related to what I observed. Weather:
aprox. 17C with light wind from the SSE with clear skies."

seeing a "bright light, moving very fast," leaving behind a "streak of
fire." The caller said he was watching the object from the Corydon
Village area.

A man and a companion were driving east on Highway 317 near Pointe du
Bois when he saw what appeared to be an aircraft at a high altitude.
It was moving very slowly, then became stationary and seemed to travel
towards them, getting larger as it approached. It came close enough
that the witnesses could see it was metallic and was shining in the
Sun. After 5 minutes, the driver looked away for an instant, and the
object "disappeared without a trace" while the other witness watched
in disbelief. The driver is a pilot and was sure the object was not an
airplane.

e night sky. He was watching two stars that were near to each other
when one of them began a slow descent to the horizon. After about 10
seconds, it was lost to sight.

A man and woman were inside a house in Tyndall Park when they saw two
unusual lights in the northern sky. The less bright NL appeared to be
20 degrees in altitude higher than a streetlight. It moved slowly
eastward, and appeared to fade and then brighten occasionally.
Concurrently, the witnesses also observed a much brighter light that
was clearly "strobing" and also moving slowly "back and forth."
The witnesses used a video camera to record approximately three
minutes of video of the objects. Unfortunately, no tripod was used,
and the video image is very unsteady. Nevertheless, the brighter of
the two objects is clearly strobing and not twinkling, as a star would
appear. After several minutes, the lights dimmed and were lost from view.
The less bright object was thought to be "disk-shaped," although this
is not evident on the videotape.

his attention was attracted to a triangle of three stars. One began
moving away from the others and moved "up," then "jolted left" and was

Four teenagers watched two "stars" moving in the night sky. They
became afraid when the lights "came closer" and appeared to be
"sitting on top" of us. It moved slowly at first, then erratically, in
up and down motions, then "diagonally." After one hour of observation,
the lights vanished from view.

"I spotted a bright meteor at 00h05 CDT/05h05 UT, July 26, 1995. This
was extremely bright particularly since it passed near a streetlamp
from my perspective and was still visible. I'd guess the magnitude to
be at least 0.0, perhaps up to -3 or -5. Altitude was about 50 degrees
off the horizon initially and burned out at about 40 degrees (very
shallow flight path). I'm estimating it began at about 75 degrees
(ENE) and moved to about 45 degrees (NE) in about three to five
seconds. A yapour trail was visible for a few moments afterwards. Been
a long time since I've seen one of these."

A witness "noticed a dull orange flash, dimmer than lighting, outside
his bedroom window of his cottage. After looking out the window, he
noticed an orange light, moving rapidly behind the clouds, which the
witness claims was not lightning. (He described the weather as being
calm, cloudy, no sign of storm). Duration was short, only about 1-2
seconds for he light behind the clouds. (his field of vision was quite 
limited.) His brother, in an adjacent room, saw the initial flash of light,

sky. Suddenly, the triangle "lit up" then "went really fast," leaving
a "trail of light." They were in Sisler field, looking east at the

"Well, the other night I panicked (read that as: had to do a
double-take) a little bit. Lying on the couch, watching the TV - and
out my window (my guess over the University of Manitoba) I saw a set
of 3 or 4 lights moving fro west to east (doing a shallow parabola).
After muting the TV, and hearing the tell-tale jet engine noise from
the open window, I concluded that it was just a low flying plane,
banking at a strange angle, and going through a part of the sky that I
rarely see planes in. This all happened Sunday night - so if you have
someone making a 'report' to you on this - that's _my_ analysis."

A witness observed a white flashing light in the ENE, travelling
eastward. It appeared to be "square-shaped" and a "brilliant,
magnesium white." As it travelled, it increased in size and then
decreased again before disappearing after a few seconds. It was
approximately 40 degrees above the horizon as it travelled on a
arclike trajectory, "curving and following the Earth's curvature." The
witness insisted it was "not a bolide."

A man observed an object like a "green plasma stream" in the western
sky. It "dropped out of the sky, heading downward, as was "like an air
discharge." It was said to be a "self-contained glow."
The witness believed the object to be an alien artifact, and he had a
"sense" that the observation was a "display of power" to show their
superiority. He was concerned that because the object was near to
where other witnesses had seen objects the previous week (near Sisler
Park), and suggested that the aliens might have attempted or succeeded
in abducting those witnesses.

A witness was driving west at the intersection of Corydon and Kenaston
when he saw an unusual object in the SW sky. It appeared as "three
lights" close together" and was moving "straight down to the ground."
The object was orange and had no trail. The witness thought it might
have been an airplane crashing, so he drove to the soth Perimeter
Highway in search of a crash site.
The witness was certain that the object had fallen to the ground only
a few miles away, and doubted when investigators suggested it might
have been a bolide much further away.

 they watched, a bright "star" in the west began moving and then
descended below the trees. Three others, slightly dimmer in
brightness, also began moving in tandem or formation and descended

An amateur astronomer observed a light in the NW sky. It flashed
"pink, green, white, yellow and blue" in sequence. He watched it for
approximately five minutes as it "just sunk lower" to the horizon. An
identifiable aircraft was in the same general area as the object at
one point during the sighting, and the witness insisted that the two
were dissimilar.

Description of object: Dark object that blended in with the sky except
for two small strobing red lights. It moved from west to east, flying
over the witness silently, but at a higher altitude than the previous
sighting.
Additional info: He noticed it upon a chance look up at the sky (he
stated he likes to watch the night sky) and the observation ended upon
it disappearing over the eastern horizon. He described his emotional
state as being much calmer this time.

A man reported watching a stationary light in the NE, which changed
slowly from red to green to white and back again. He said the object
was visible for several hours, during which time he called some
friends who watched it as well from their locations elsewhere in the
city. He says that at one point, he drove his car around the south
part of the city (he lives on South Pembina) in order to get a better
view. He says the light could have been moving slowly, but insists
that it was always in the east. He says the light was the "brightest
thing in the sky."
NB: Saturn is moderately bright,-but not exceptionally so, as it 
rises in the evening. However, Jupiter is brilliant in the west.

on the night of August 30/31 of 1995. The location was again3317 Portage
Avenue when he spotted the object, as it moved this time from the
north to the east.

A night manager at a hotel in the western part of the city observed a
silent object travelling from north to south over the hotel at a low
altitude. He insisted that the object was not a conventional aircraft,
as he watches all aerial activity throughout the night and it did not
resemble any other flight.
The object was said to be black in colour, "blending in with the night
sky" and with only two small red lights on either side.
