The study of UFOs has occupied much of my time since learning of the Belgian UFO Wave of 1989-90. From late in '89 and a few months into '90, thousands of people in that country witnessed a large triangular craft performing unconventional maneuvers in their skies. The picture above gives you some idea of what they experienced.(click to view article). I have completed another article that I hope will be printed in the same publication this year. It involves my investigation into close encounters of the disastrous kind (UFO crashes or crash retrievals). If one digs through enough data one finds over sixty such events (besides the well known one of '47 in New Mexico). What I discovered during my research was what appears to be a cyclic component to such dramatic UFO anomalies. During my studies of this subject I have acquired a specialized interest in the UFO Wave phenomena (when sightings become magnified over an extended period of time). Some noteworthy researchers in this field have found there to be an apparent cyclic nature to these flare-ups of sightings. However, other followers of the UFO subject believe that such notions are mistaken since many times there is little or no evidence of a wave when supporters of a proposed cycle say there should be.
In my opinion it is not so simple. From studying many sighting reports I reached the conclusion that their is strong evidence of a cyclic component if one considers that there may be several periodic influences that can act together or against each other to create sighting reports to either roll in or become a bust.
As a result of this belief, I was inspired to write two articles for MUFON (the Mutual UFO Network) in their monthly journal of March 1995, and June 1996
