Attack of the Crab Chowder
It started with an innocent little lunch with Debbie at this sports bar that's now a beauty salon at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco. All I did was order the crab chowder made with Anchor Steam Beer. Mighty tasty.
Then, early Saturday morning, the phone rings. It's the Chase Manhattan Bank asking if I spent $13 for lunch at the St. Francis. Waking from a sound sleep, I groggily replied that indeed I had enjoyed that particular item. And that's all they wanted.
Why they didn't call when some thieving load in Florida was charging Gucci leather and cell phones to that account, I'll never know.
And so grew the story, nay, the legend of The Attack of the Crab Chowder.
