My Front Pages

14 September 2003

Welcome - as Alice Cooper sang - to my nightmare. I thought it would be fun to have a Web page. I had originally intended to update this page regularly. But it's been nearly four years, and this is only the third update, and the first in over three years. Why? Mostly because I discovered it's a big pain in the posterior jumping through the hoops to update an HTML page, at least on SBC's server.

Maybe eventually I'll link this frame to a blog kind of thing, so I can update easily and at whim, and then actually update occasionally. But in the meanwhile, just the facts, okay?

I'm Dan'l Danehy-Oakes. Over on the other page (the one with all the pictures) is my wife, friend, partner, and co-conspirator, Sheila Danehy-Oakes. We've been married for a quarter century.

The katbarx website is the showing-off-place for Danehy-Oakes Fact and Fiction, a catchall for our joint efforts at self-expression.

I write.

She makes pictures.

That's about the extent of it.

Her pictures pretty much speak for themselves.

My writings pretty much speak for me, too. Except when they don't.

(Now entering disclaimer mode…)

I would like to make it clear (and Sheila would probably like to make it even clearer) that anything I write here does not necessarily reflect her thoughts and opinions. In fact, they may not even reflect mine, they might just have sounded good when I wrote 'em. Some of them reflect my personal and somewhat idiosyncratic religious and philosophical views. Mostly I hope you enjoy, maybe I give you something to think about, chew over, reflect, meditate, ruminate, ...

Cheers, and don't take any wooden pickles.
