"Come on, Carly, come away with me." Wow! If the sizzling looks that passed between Jack & Carly on that glorious December day in 1997 weren't enough to convince me that J&C were the next greatest thing to hit the planet, that line most certainly was! Although those scenes in Al's Diner happened over three years ago, they are imprinted in my mind as if they took place yesterday, and every time I watch them my heart just melts, especially when Carly moves in to kiss Jack, and they just go at it like there's no tomorrow. Everything about that day was perfect-the intimacy in their innuendo (who can forget Carly's line "In your dreams", which was followed by Jack's breathless, "That's OK with me too?"), the intensity of the eye contact Michael and Maura maintained throughout the encounter, and the scorching nature of their kiss. Oh sure, Jack had bet Margo earlier in the day that he could successfully break up Carly and Hal, but that only accounted for the surface level of that searing exchange...it was a fact: Jack wanted Carly, and Carly wanted Jack, and it was only a matter of time before things burned out of control. Some things never change!
