If you are in need of a website for your small business, organization, hobby ... or whatever! ... I can help you. A lot of people say they are in the "website design" business, but most of the inexpensively priced web designers do little more than choose a pre-designed template from a package they bought on eBay for $25, cut and paste your information from your Word document, add a few inexpensive pieces of clip art to dazzle you, and collect your money. And good luck getting them to make any changes once they've "created" your site!

Simply put, I don't work that way. Everyone who has a website wants their site to stand out from the rest. Cookie cutter websites, with templates and clipart, don't stand out. They look pleasant enough, but they don't give you the ability to highlight what you want people to see when they visit. Only a custom designed site can organize your information in a way that catches the visitor's attention and makes it easy for them to find what they came there for. I have owned the San Fernando Valley Transit Insider website for ten years. (That's an eternity in Internet time.) Go ahead and take a look at it. Wander around it. And as you do, realize that this site was not put together using templates, clip art, and cut-and-paste. I designed this site and I have written all the HTML code (that's the code your browser reads to display a web page) myself. Sure, it's not a super flashy site, but it loads quickly (how many times have you waited impatiently while someone's overblown Flash introductory page loaded?), it's non-cluttered and well-organized, and it doesn't hurt your eyes to read. If I can do that for myself, I can certainly do it for you. And I can do it as inexpensively as the template-using designers, because I've been doing this long enough that creating a new site from scratch probably takes me less time than it does for them to cut-and-paste everything into their cookie cutter designs. Here's what I do: If you have a simple need, such as setting up a single page to host your blog, I'll do the page design for $40 and help set you up a hosting account with one of the most respected Internet hosting services in the U.S., which will cost you about another $50 a year, including your domain name. I'll even set up the most popular blogging software, WordPress, for you. Need more? For $100 I will design a ten-page website for you, include a "contact us" page and help you get that hosting account set up. It can include a photo gallery, discussion forum, guestbook, and polling, in addition to those ten pages. If your needs go beyond that, e-mail me and I'll work up a custom quote. And don't worry if you have changes that need to be made later ... I can always be reached in 24 hours or less to update pages, and you can choose either to pay a la carte for the occasional update or a monthly charge for unlimited updates.
