Living and Working in San Francisco, California

Brenda Nussey and Mark Kvale

Golden Gate Bridge and SailboatsWe've been in San Francisco since 1996 and have had many good experiences and happy times here. I am in the same position at work that I started, upon first coming to San Francisco as a Programmer/Analyst in the Institute for Health and Aging, University of California San Francisco. Here is my department's web page if you would like to visit and see what we do here at the Institute.

Mark is also at the University of California San Francisco, at the Keck Center and has his own web page.

Although we work at the same university we are on different campuses. Mark is within walking distance to his office and I have a 10 minute shuttle bus ride (provided by the university) to mine. We really appreciate the minimal commute that we have as so many of our friends and colleagues have long commutes that can vary from 1-2 hrs depending on traffic problems.

Check out the current weather and traffic problems in Brenda's neighbourhood at KPIX in San Francisco.

Golden Gate Bridge and Fort Point

San Francisco is such a good location to venture out on hikes, weekend getaways and to visit cultural activities. I usually take my camera along and have been experimenting with scanning photos and using Photoshop to prepare them for putting on the internet. You can see my pictures, organized by topic in Album 1 - Bay Area.

I have developed an interest in electronic books and look for interesting free books to read on my electronic ebooks. There are many great sites available for downloading material that can be read either on an electronic book or on your computer. The Athena site has 10,000 links to books (many different languages) in literature alone. I've read some great classics (that are no longer copyrighted) from this site. For an amazing collection of sites providing links to all kinds of reading material see Q'eranna's webpage.

Email Brenda or Mark if we haven't heard from you in a while.
