Welcome to the Official web site of the Ekinos race (EKN).
Who are the Ekinos?
The Ekinos are a non-humanoid sentient race in the universe of "Beyond
The Stellar Empire," a role-playing Play-By-Mail game moderated by Rolling
Thunder Games.
The Ekinos (EKN), in human terms, resemble transparent starfish. It is widely
assumed that they are a genetically engineered species. They are reputed to be linked
to the Snittians in some way.
Little is known about EKN special abilities, although they are rumored to have
advantages in the areas of Blackhole and Wormhole transitions. They are also known
to employ various exotic weapons.
Where is the Ekinos home?
The location of the Ekinos home world is not public information. However, the
EKN maintain colonies in the Capellan Periphery and Nexus region that are open to
trade and tourism.
What is the government structure of the EKN?
The Ekinos are governed by the Exemplars Cabal of the Tome, consisting of the
five Exemplars:
Exemplar of the Archives (Information)
Exemplar of the Guard (Defence)
Exemplar of the Learned (Research)
Exemplar of Materiel (Production)
Exemplar for the Mission (Colonization)
The Exemplar Curate (PD) presides over the Cabal, and acts as the Ambassador to all
other races and governments.
The decisions of the Cabal are based on interpretations of the writings of the 'Tome
of Heavenly Attainment.' These decisions provide the laws that the Ekinos live by.
The EKN are interested primarily in the peaceful exploration of space and acquisition
of knowledge.
