Don Heckman, jazz critic for the Los Angeles Times, has described it as "one of the country’s finest musical organizations." L.A. Jazz Scene writer Bob Agnew has praised the musicians as “world-class,” and individual performances as “outstanding,” "memorable," and "superlative."
