Lee's Isle -
Faeries
Faeries have always intrigued me. The myths and legends about faeries
are many and diverse, and often contradictory. Only one thing is
certain - that nothing is certain. All things are possible in the
land of Faeries.

Over hill, over dale,
Thorough bush, thorough brier,
Over park, over pale,
Thorough flood, thorough fire,
I do wander everywhere,
Swifter than the moon's sphere;
And I serve the fairy queen,
To dew her orbs upon the green.
The cowslips tall her pensioners be:
In their gold coats spots you see;
Those be rubies, fairy favours,
In those freckles live their savours:
I must go seek some dewdrops here
And hang a pearl in every cowslip's ear.
Farewell, thou lob of spirits; I'll be gone:
Our queen and all our elves come here anon.
~Shakespeare (A Midsummer Night's Dream)

Faerie Pictures - a little slow in loading, but worth the wait.

"Bid me discourse, I will enchant thine ear,
Or, like a fairy, trip upon the green,
Or, like a nymph, with long dishevelled hair,
Dance on the sands, and yet no footing seen.
Love is a spirit all compact of fire,
Not gross to sink, but light, and will aspire."
~Shakespeare (Venus and Adonis)
