Steepness: Corral Hollow Road has a maximum grade of 5% for 1-1/2 miles. Patterson Pass Road has an average grad of 6% over 3 miles and a maximum grade of 10% for about 1/4 mile

Traffic Volume/Road Conditions: Low traffic on Tesla and Patterson Pass Road. Moderate traffic on Valpico, Lammers, and Schulte Roads, which are within the town of Tracey. Good shoulders except for Patterson Pass and Cross Roads. Sections of poor pavement on Patterson Pass Road, good to excellent pavement elsewhere. Twisting, unbanked descents present on both Corral Hollow and Patterson Pass Roads, use caution.

Start/End Point: Livermore City Hall, located on South Livermore Avenue. Take the North Livermore Avenue exit from I-580 and drive south through town.

Comments: You'll see plenty of windmills on this ride as you return to Livermore on Patterson Pass Road. If you're riding in the afternoon, expect 20-30 MPH headwinds as you climb the pass! That's the price you have to pay for the wonderful tailwind which can push into Tracey at 30+ MPH. Carry large water bottles and reload at the gas station if you're riding in the summer heat. This is a good ride to do with a few friends so you can share the work slogging into that headwind.
