Comments: The rolling terrain which makes up most of this ride can be great fun in a competitive group. The major challenge of the day is Ink Grade, which isn't that steep in the beginning or end, but has a tougher middle. Fortunately most of this climb is well shaded. The initial climb on Pope Valley Road can look intimidating, but it is relatively short.
Use caution on the descent of Howel Mountain Road as portions of it are narrow and twisty with poor pavement. It is very easy to be surprised by traffic coming uphill.

Special thanks for Don Carpenter for this route and the ride profile from John Madden’s Polar S625X.
