	A History of Scotland I've read this one twice through and parts more than that. Interesting short history of Scotland.		The Celts Nora Chadwick I enjoyed this one quite a lot and have read it twice.
	The Age of the Picts A great book! I got this for my birthday and really am enjoying it. It's a bit scholarly, so if you don't like footnotes, it might not be for you.		The Picts and Their Symbols Another great book...this one came during Christmas and I'm about half-way through.

Very good for the Scottish Gaelic beginner with no local resources available. This version includes two cassettes.	A Celtic Miscellany: Translations from the Celtic Literatures
	Scottish Gaelic/English dictionary. Very good, affordable dictionary. Doesn't have everything but is just right for the briefcase or bookbag.	Celtic Designs from the British Museum
Island and No Great Mischief both by Alistair MacLeod No Great Mischief is an excellent novel. Since some of my ancestors came from similar roots and through similar experiences it's almost like genealogy.
