Bargaining-

Your LVEA team and the district have been negotiating since (it seems like forever) the summer on your entire contract. The areas that are being/will be focused on are – leaves, salary, benefits, the opening of the new middle school, school schedules, meeting schedules, transfers, class size, evaluations, job-sharing, special education, psychologist salary schedule, PAR/BTSA, discipline, site-based decisions, itinerant teachers, and comparison districts.

The negotiations have been moving slowly, but positively. We have not started to talk about salaries and benefits yet because of the uncertainty of the state’s finances.

There have been many tentative agreements written throughout the process on an array of the issues listed above. You will be seeing more information about the changes made and you will, of course, be voting on all of the changes.
