All Leaguers registered for Convention on Friday,16 May 2003 (delegates, members, volunteers) are cordially invited as paid guests to join invited local, regional, state, and national elected officials at the award-winning Oakland Museum of California for this early evening, Convention Gala Reception. If you want to bring a non-registered guest, the charge is $25.

Please mark this event on your Registration Form if you plan to attend. The invitation will be found in the Registration Packet you receive upon registering.

Don’t miss this delightful Convention social event.  Be sure to have your plans include experiencing this award-winning gem of a building; enjoying the delicious hors d’oeuvres of Grace Catering along with California and Australian wines; “hob-nobbing” with elected officials; chatting with Leaguers from all over the state; meeting the LWVUS President; greeting the old and new members of the LWVC Board; and doing all this while being entertained by a great Dixieland Jazz band.

The Gala Reception will precede the Dine-Around event or dining on your own.  The Museum is 5 city blocks away from the Oakland City Center Marriott Hotel.  The City Center BART station is one stop away from the Museum’s Lake Merritt station, followed by a 2-block walk.  Buses are not available, but taxis will be on hand to take groups of 4 for the same price as one. We have arranged free parking at the Museum.
