A little personal info...

I was born in Orange County, CA in 1944.  My dad was born in Kansas and my mom in Alberta, Canada.  I attended various public schools in Orange County and graduated from Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove, CA in 1962.  I attended Santa Ana College and petitioned for and received an Associate in Arts degree in 1970.  I met my wife, Patti, in the early 1960s and we married in 1965. Patti was born in Ontario, Canada and emigrated with her parents to California in the 1950s.  In 1983 we left Orange County and moved to Poway, a semi-rural community about 20 miles up the coast from San Diego, CA and 10 miles inland from the coastal community of Del Mar.  Patti and I have four children and ten grandchildren.

Poway touts itself as the "City in the Country" and, a few years ago, that might have been a fairly accurate self-proclamation; but, nothing stays the same.  Residential and commercial development was inevitable in an area with such a delightful climate, low crime rate and all-around friendly atmosphere.  However, Poway still manages to maintain some of it's rural character and  serve as a buffer to the spread of the City of San Diego into the rural areas east of Poway.
