Her full name is Dor-Renee Joy Jakobson and called Dori for short. She was born July 18, 1972 in Carbondale, IL. She now lives in Redding, CA with her three children, whose names are Alexander, Samantha, and the newest baby, Dejanarra Renee Lang Jakobson-Falk. Deja was born April 29, 2003.
Although born in Carbondale, Illinois, Dori lived in Chicago until age 6 and then moved to the San Francisco Bay Area. Thus she is a big city girl and very at home in a busy urban environment like the Bay Area. She attended school in Albany, CA and graduated from Albany High. After high school Dori began working in retail and soon moved into the food service industry. She worked for a number of years at a local restaurant where she became interested in bartending. When she became pregnant with Alexander, Dori stopped working and became a stay-at-home mom. Alexander Michael-Rene was born December 18, 1998. Her daughter, Samantha Renee-Joy, was born on December 10, 2000. Her third and final child, daughter Dejanarra Renee-Laing was born this spring. Dori is committed to giving her children a good parenting experience and she enjoys spending time with Alexander and Samantha and now with Deja too. August, 2000 she moved to Redding, CA in order to have a simpler life style for herself and her children. Dori is currently not living with the father of her first two children, Damon Williams, but is living with Deja's father. His name is Phillip John Falk, one of the local Redding boys. He works as a cook in the "Olive Garden" and is a good daddy to all the children. Dori and Damon were partners for about 10 years and separated shortly before Samantha was born. Damon is interested in maintaining a parenting relationship with his children and will be visiting when he can.
Dori loves animals, especially cats. She would like to some day help abandoned animals. She currently has 2 cats, Popeye, and Olivia. Dori raised Olivia and Popeye from wee kittens that had lost their mother. She used to take the kittens to work with her so she could feed them their bottles. They are now big strapping cats weighing in at about 25 pounds each.
Dori was reunited with Monty at age 25. She did not have the opportunity to know him while growing up in Chicago and California. Now that she has met him and his extended family, she is quite delighted to know that there are people out there who look like her. She is especially happy to have a brother and sister and hopes in time to make good family connections with them.
In September 2001, she started school at Shasta College in Redding. She started studying to be a nurse although, as with most college students, she regularly changes her mind about her major. Since becoming pregnant with Deja (and now as a mom of an infant), Dori has put her school plans on hold indefinitely, although she hopes to return to school sometime in 2004.
