Lake Tahoe is the perfect family vacation spot, summer or winter. West Shore Lake Tahoe is the most beautiful part of the lake. Renting a cabin or chalet is the best way to enjoy mountain living, whether you plan to ski, hike, fish, go boating, or bicycle along the lake.
Our home is nine blocks from Lake Tahoe, two blocks from Sugar Pine
National Forest, located in a tree-studded residential neighborhood with
all the convience of city living and the views of pines and redwoods. Only
minutes from down hill skiing, cross-country skiing, boating, fishing,
parasailing, hiking, bicycling along the Lake path, restaurants, and devoid
of the glitter and commercialism of South Shore.
A family
can rent our home less expensively than hotel or casino rooms yet enjoy
all the comforts of home: telephone, DVD player, AM/FM radio, record player,
stereo double cassette deck, VCR, color stereo satellite TV with 50 stations
and 30 music stations, surround sound, fully equipped kitchen (dishwasher, automatic ice
maker, drip coffee maker, coffee bean grinder, microwave, slow cooker,
mixer, pots and pans, flatware, dishes, spices, etc.), washer/dryer, central
forced air heater, ceiling fan, fireplace...all within a two-story "old
Tahoe" chalet environment built in 1992 by our family.
The ceiling and walls are white-washed knotty pine, with an open floor
plan offering two-story windows looking out to the tall pines and redwood
trees. Easy access on city streets, yet views which draw families to this
wonderland!
The master bedroom is located privately upstairs off of the loft (which
overlooks the fireplace, the living room, the dining area (furnished with
oak dining table seating six), and breakfast bar (which seats two). The
spacious master bedroom has a private full bath, queen-size bed, and rear
balcony overlooking pine trees. There is plenty of closet space, heated
bed, and all linens are provided.
Two separate bedrooms downstairs each have two twin beds, and the sofa in the living room has a queen-size hide-a-bed for a total sleeping accomodation of 8. There is a full bath downstairs (total of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths).
Rental
Rates:
Daily rent rate (two day minimum requested) $175.
Weekly rental rate $1000 (6 nights, 7 days).
Monthly rental rate $2800.
Holiday Rates (New Years, Easter, Thanksgiving) $1500 week. Christmas week is not available (our family enjoys this tremendous vacation spot each Xmas). $150 security/cleaning deposit required to secure reservation. Many families wish to spend all available hours playing on the lake, skiing, or hiking and prefer to hire professional cleaners (who charge between $75 to $125). The home is exceptionally clean upon your arrival.
Included: all linens, utilities (local phone calls only), 50 station
satellite TV, use of all premises and furnishings. Not included: long distance
phone calls, pay-per-view movies, firewood, room service.
