Ideas? What are those?

Everyone has sat down, faced that blank piece of paper (or computer screen), and thought "What do I do now?"

The first thing to remember is:
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
It is normal to feel panicked or frustrated.

The second thing to remember is:
YOU ARE NOT STUPID just because you can't think of anything to say just at this particular moment.
(All right, if you've signed up for a class on the kinetics of Molecular Geometry when you hate anything to do with Organic Chemistry, you might have questionable judgement, but that's not the same thing.)

The ideas are there, fermenting just below the surface of your mind. The trick is to relax enough to release the creativity you have. You have something inside you that makes you unique from every other individual on the surface of this planet.  That means that you can put thoughts down onto the page that no one else on this planet has thought before, introduce new ways of looking at concepts that no one else has put into writing,  in short, YOU HAVE SOMETHING WORTH WRITING DOWN inside of you.
It's just a question of getting it out.

There is help for the problem of the blank page.
Below are some links to sites that specifically deal with this problem.

I've got the blank page in front of me -- now what?

What are you doing reading down here? Did none of those sites help? Fear not.
What you need to do now is give your mind a rest.
Stop attacking the problem.
Let your subconscious work on it, while you go out and enjoy yourself!
I recommend humor as a way to unblock a mind that's locked in rigid frustration.  Go do something that makes you laugh!
Such as reading the Bulwer-Lytton Contest entries.  This contest calls upon writers to compose the Worst Possible opening sentence to a novel.
If you can't get your mind to write something useful, try focusing on writing something really bad.  Sometimes that helps.

Good Luck!
