2 CONT Mrs. Melissa Ann Cline was born October 10 1851 in Scott County, Indiana. She
2 CONT was united in marriage to Job Law in 1872 and moved to Kansas which she had
2 CONT live fifty-eight years. !OBITUARY OF MELISSA ANN CLINE LAW.
2 CONT She departed this life March 19, 1932 at the age of 80 years 5 months and 9
2 CONT days. She leaves to mourn her death four sons, Ed, Henry, Charles, and James
2 CONT Law and one daughter Mrs. O. B. Chew of Lyons; One brother Lewis Cline of
2 CONT Beagle Kansas; eight grandchildren and 2 gread grandchildren.
2 CONT John and Delbert Law preceded her in death and her husband departed this life
2 CONT 28 years ago this month.

2 CONT Job Law, a pioneer citizen of Gypsum Township died last Monday night, aged
2 CONT 56 years, 8 months, and 15 days. He was a native of Indiana; came to kansas
2 CONT in 1871 and settled on the farm where he died. He leaves a wife, 6 sons and
2 CONT one daughter. He was a good citizen, a kind neighbor, an affectionate
2 CONT husband and devoted father. Funeral serves were conducted at the residence
2 CONT by Rev. G. R. Hume, in the presence of a large concourse of people. The
2 CONT remains were laid to rest in the Gypsum Cenetery.

2 CONT !playing the accompaniment. Pallbearers were William Ott, Henry Enrich, Alvin
2 CONT !Swisher, Ralph McBride, Leslie Swisher, and Percy Eggleston.

2 CONT conducted by Rev. Robert A. Hunt at the Salina Mortuary. Rev. I. W. Torrence
2 CONT was in charge of the service here. Music was furnished by a quartet composed of
2 CONT miss Berenice Manning, Miss Alberta Goodwin, William Swisher, and Gleas Gillum
2 CONT with Mrs. Ralph Winslow, accompanying.

2 CONT The following Obituary was read at the service:
2 CONT Henry Addison Law was born at Gypsum, Kansas, November 6, 1880 the third child
2 CONT of Job and melissa Law and died at St. John's Hospital at Salina, Kansas, June
2 CONT 24, 1942 at the age of 61 years, 7 months, and 18 days. He was married to Dora
2 CONT Bartels, December 20, 1905. To this union three children were born; two
2 CONT daughters, Mrs. Aletta Wagner of Parma, Idaho, and Hazel Law of Salina, and a
2 CONT son Clarence Law, of Wichita. He is also furvived by three brothers, Ed of
2 CONT Gypsum, James of Topeka, and charles of Canton, and one sister, Mrs. O. B. Chew
2 CONT of Lyons. There are also four grandchildren. He was a kind and loving husband
2 CONT and father.

2 CONT Obituary from Salina Journal June 25, 1942:
2 CONT Funeral for Liberty Township Farmer Saturday afternoon, Henry Addison Law, 61
2 CONT years old, farmer from Liberty Township, Southwest of Gypsum, died Wednesday
2 CONT afternoon at 2:20 O'Clock at St. John's Hospital, a victim of heart disease.
2 CONT The body was taken to the Ryan-Sullivan Mortuary and will remain there until
2 CONT the funeral services Saturday afternoon. Rev. Robert A. Hunt will conduct a
2 CONT short service at the Mortuary at 2 O'Clock, and a second service will be held
2 CONT in the Methodist Church at Gypsum at 3:30 with Rev. L. W. Torrence Officiating.

2 CONT Mr Law born in Gypsum November 6, 1880, and spent his entire life in Saline
2 CONT County. He was a member of the Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife

2 CONT !on the old Krauss Farm Gypsum Township, Saline County, Kansas. He passed away
2 CONT !July 7 1953 at his home at the age of 78 years 5 months and 12 days.

2 CONT !Mr. Law was united in marriage on April 21, 1908 to Etta Snook, Mr. & Mrs. Law
2 CONT !took residence at their present home and cared for William Sharp until his
2 CONT !death on March 24, 1940.

2 CONT !Every since being married Mr. Law has lived on their present farm 5 1/2 miles
2 CONT !south and 2 1/2 miles east of Gypsum where he has spent his time farming. He
2 CONT !retired in 1942 but continued to live on the farm.

2 CONT !Mr. Law became a christian at the Methodist Church in Lyons, Kansas at the age
2 CONT !of 21 years. Since that time he has become a student of the scriptures and
2 CONT !especially of Prophecy. He lived and believed his Christian Faith. He was
2 CONT !always honest and sincere and upright.
2 CONT 
2 CONT !He has many friends in and around Gypsum.
2 CONT 
2 CONT !Mr. Law's mother and father and 4 brothers preceded him in death.
2 CONT 
2 CONT !Those who remain to feel this loss are besides his wife Etta Law, a brother
2 CONT !Charles of Salina, and one sister Ollie Chew of Lyons, besides nephews, nieces
2 CONT !and a host of friends.
