Special Guest: Joanie Sommers
My friend Allen Levy came to me with an idea - why not do a jazz album of songs from Jewish life, many of which became hits in English. The challenge was to not demean the initial concept, or the meaning of these wonderful ethnic tunes, while presenting them in a vibrant jazz setting. I think we've accomplished what we set out to do. We pay homage to these great songs - and they swing, too!

Joanie Sommers does a marvelous job on her tunes and the band adds a vocal on "Mahzel." We think you'll be moved, and you'll also have some fun. So ---- enjoy!
