Squirrels & Cats
These are animals previously saved, I neglected to take pictures of the Chipmunk who ultimatelt bit me before I set him free, the multiple birds who either fell from the tree or brought in with great pride by the cat. And of course there was the pony we traded for the kitten who immediately went wee-wee on my bed! I have not yet scanned in the pictures of Fuzzball, so . . . .

On the left is Natasha, the siberian tigress (taken at Tippi Hedron's place, Shambala).

On the right is of "Peaches" the ocelot . Obviously these were taken many years apart as my hair is about 2 feet longer with Peaches.   No, I did not own these animals, and I am no lion tamer either!

This here is "winky" saved from death-by-barn-cat when he was but a few days old without even his eyes open. Well one was open but he didn't seem to see anything. It took a few weeks before the other eye opened. He wound up believing that John was his mom. Eventually he was given to the wildlife weigh station for release back to the wild.

This is Ricky and Charlie.  Ricky had three legs and turned out to be "Rochelle" as we later discovered when her 3 babies came with her.  These critters were regular visitors at our backdoor for a few years.  We would call them at night and sure enough within a few minutes they would show up looking for a handout.

There is lots more below, but in case you want to go somewhere else in my pages here are the links

Wild Animals up close
When I took my adventure in Alaska for 10 days I spent 4 days in Denali National Park where I saw lots of great grizzly bears and Moose and even a Wolf. The Grizzly bears were so busy eating their berries they never noticed us spectators, and the Fine Young Canabal oops I mean Caribou was willing to pose for his shot on an afternoon hike near Wonder Lake.
Below is "Bullwinkle" who wandered right into Wonderlake campground one fine evening.
Then there was the wolf that we must have watched for half an hour, he didn't see me until he was about 20 feet away! And yes, the wolf is wearing a radio collar. The brightly colored fox is a regular visitor near the Wonderlake bus stop, this picture doesn't do his coat justice, and you can barely see that the tip of his tail was bright white. To see more about Alaska go to my "Favorite Places" and enjoy the adventure.

Students past and present
I quit teaching about two years ago.  After 20+ years of working with kids in Pony Club it was hard to give up.  However I needed more time in my life for things that weren't "horsey" and this way I now can compete amateur status (which is really where I belong).   I will keep this shot in here of Laura Gladwin's horse "Charlie", as he is special and so is she.  Laura now has a new horse and Charlie takes care of the younger beginner riders.
This is Charlie, or "Sir Charles", I owned him for about 18 months and then sold him to Laura. He is an Arab/Quarterhorse with a lot of talent and an attitude that is both lovable and stubborn. This shot was taken when Laura and Charlie went to Kentucky for the USPC Championships in 1998 (held once every 3 years). They won the Pas De Deux competition with Christine Hoover, also a prior student of mine. They not only won but they had the highest score on record, an 82%.

Horses of all colors
These are snapshots from the past of horses I have owned.  For my current "child"- Anasazi  -go to my "Horseypage"

Patches 1975

now isn't that a cute kid!!

These are in order, . . . Patches, he was my first horse pony, I was told would never jump over two feet, well the jump above right is  3'. We showed them!

Frosty Lady 1981  . . . . Then there was Frosty, another one that the experts said would not jump over 2'9", well this fan jump (above right) was 3'9" I guess the two of us again showed that it just takes a lot of heart and a lot of believing.

Then I found my current "child" - Anasazi. Get his whole story on my Horseypage. We are now about ready to compete at Prix St. George level.  We are definitely having a BLAST with dressage. Again I have found a horse with a heart bigger than all the rest of them put together, of course sometimes he has an attitude bigger than all the rest of them!  But that just makes him special.

Last Year we were 28th in the country at 4th level.

Some have said that if I lived in Saudi Arabia I may have still been a Dressage nut, but my mount may have been a "horse of a different color" so to speak.  I was sent this shot to demonstrate.
