This page is to get that obsession of mine, Horses and Dressage, all placed on one page so that those who are not so into the equine persuasion do not have to be tortured.
Anasazi - 1990 bay gelding by Beauté, out of Amulet by Insterruf bred by Classic Crest Performance Horses
This is my Trakehner horse named Anasazi. We train with Leslie Webb she also has her own website (created by moi). Currently we are competing at Prix St. Georges, it has been a long awaited moment for me to compete at the FEI level. It is fun to put on that top hat and shadbelly! In the picture above we are competing at the Meadows of Moorpark (1998) at First Level. The other photographer is my friend John Jackson, he took both the pictures below in ~1995.
Sazi's favorite things (after
carrots) are the 2-Tempe changes and now he is getting a kick out of
passage. Once he figures something new out he just keeps on trying to do
it even if I don't request it sometimes! We're working on
1-Tempes as well. Last year's goal was to achieve my USDF
silver medal, and I was successful!. The silver medal requires scores above 60% at 4th and Prix
St. Georges. This is about as far as Anasazi will go in the
competition arena, so while I plan to continue to train and ride him and learn
and enjoy him I am now working on finding a new horse. In April I am
planning a trip to Wahington State to look at a 4 year old, he looks pretty nice
on the tape I have seen but have yet to see him in person and you just don't
know until you try them!!! Here is the only shot I have of him so far.

Some Historical Horse Data:

Patches 1975
now isn't that a cute kid!!
These are in order, . . . Patches, he was my first
horse pony, for a whopping
$200 and he even came with a side-kick named Michael who stole everyone's heart.
Patches, I was told would never jump over two feet, well the jump above right
is 3'. We showed them!

Frosty Lady 1981
. . . . Then there was Frosty, another one that the experts said would not jump over 2'9", well this fan jump (above right) was on the Training/Preliminary course at the Stonleigh Burnham Equestrian School. Here I am competing as a C3 with some of the cross-country jumps at 3'9" I guess the two of us again showed that it just takes a lot of heart and believing. The next horse in my line-up is not yet shown, that was Stewart, a big-boned Thoroughbred that I evented to Preliminary until we discovered he had a pretty nasty case of navicular disease, so we switched to dressage. By the time we were starting to work on canter pirouettes his age(22) his arthritic hocks were catching up to us. He was retired as a friend and trail horse and I took care of him until he found a cloud to frolic upon.
