Gill trama - inside of gills; tissue arrangement other than the hymenium & subhymenium; mediostratum is center zone of convergent or divergent gills

  1. Convergent or inverse - rightside up V's
    (Pluteus, Volvariella)   
     
  2. Divergent or bilateral - upside down V's; mediostratum usually evident
    (Amanita, Chroogomphus, Gomphidius, Hygrophoropsis, Hygrophorus, Limacella, Megatricholoma, Omphalotus, Paxillus, Phylloporus)   
     
  3. Interwoven - entangled or irregular
    (Baeospora, Camarophyllus, Crinipellis, Lepiota, Lactarius, Marasmiellus, Marasmius, Micromphale, Neohygrophorus, Omphalina, Strobilurus)   
     
  4. Parallel - hyphae vertical; regular
    (Collybia, Gloiophorus, Conocybe, Cystoderma, Gerronema, Hygrocybe, Inocybe, Tricholoma, Tubaria)   
     
  5. Subparallel - subregular; almost parallel with some interwoven
    (Chlorophyllum, Gymnopilus, Hygrocybe, Leptonia,
    Mycena, Pholiota, Psathyrella)
