| The mast and fittings are, with the exception of the cleat, blocks and deadeyes, completely scratch-built. Note the chainplates; also the shrouds have large eyes spliced in, and they are hand-served their entire length. There are trestle-trees and cheeks over which the soft eyes on the shrouds go. Also note that I've twice-seized the lower ends of the shrouds 'round the upper deadeyes. The mast and boom are both tapered per the Usual and Customary fashion of the days of wooden vessels. |
