The motor is a 12 volt Marx Decaperm wired with 13 gauge super-flexible wire with silicone insulation and Anderson Power-pole (Sermos) connectors. There is a single-pole, Double-throw, center-off automotive toggle in the bulkhead in front of the motor, wired to switch the batteries between the motor and speed control on the one hand and a charger circuit on the other. The prop shaft coupling is from Mack; the shaft and tube are from Robbe.
Note the two timbers in the floor of the engine room. These are sister keelsons. As the bottom is cross-planked like the prototype, there is no need for transverse frames on the bottom; however, some sort of longitudinal support is necessary for bottom strength, hence the sister keelsons.
