Use any size styrofoam ball as a base. If the ball is smaller than 2.5 inches in diameter, you may want to use a finer thread than cotton pearl #5. This ball uses a simple 8 marking pattern. When making this ball I chose to use two shades of green. I used one shade on the south side and the other shade on the north side of the ball. I switched to yellow when I ran out of one of the colors. I suggest using a darker or equal shade for the thread wrap.
