Sometimes I need inspiration, information, new ideas or more supplies. Here are some of the places I have found helpful.
TemariKai.com - The ultimate Temari web sight. Everything you could ever want to know you can find out here. Ginny Thompson started this sight years ago and it has just grown and grown and grown.
Japanese Temari Balls - Susan provides some great patterns here. I have tried most of them and found them all quite beautiful.
Sew True - This store has a large color selection of Maxilock Serger Thread.
Doll Aritist's Workshop - This is a great sight to get Bunka (rayon thread) in any color you can imagine.
Herrschners - Large color selection of DMC Pearl Cotton thread. My local stores don't have a large selection of colors so I have to order a lot on line especially if I want any orange shades.
Lacis - This sight has books authered by Japanese artists. Do a search on 'Temari' and it will take you right to all their books on the subject. These books are expensive but a lot of fun. All the instructions are in Japanese! The engineer in me just loves to figure out how they did it with just the picture and some diagrams. The balls Palm Fronds and Starfish are examples of balls that I have interpreted from one of the books I purchased from Lacis.
Ladybug Lines - A sight where you can buy size 2 doll needles. You can also get doll needles at most craft stores (i.e. Joanne's or Michaels) but they sell them in sets with size 4 and size 6 needles that are way too thick and long. I have a collection of size 4 and 6 needles that I do not know what to do with.
