Editors' Notes
Dear Brother Knights and friends,
Our Council has been very active in the past three months, with Charity Ball, Crab Feed and other social events. Let us remember that the Knights are not just fine cooks, but responsible and caring community members. Several Knights are involved with local groups, and seldom are they brought to the fore. Their contributions are humbly acknowledged here, so you can join in recognizing their efforts in a public way.
Food for the homeless – many truck runs by many Knights (Bob, Mike, Wilbur, et al). Saturday rosary for the unborn (John, Jim, Jerry, Harold, Pat, et al). Trips to Reno, Oakland and local sights (Bob, Mike, et al). Cooking for local charity events such as the Christmas family (Gene, John, et al). ProLife BBQ, Blue and Gold and St Patrick’s Day (Wilbur, Pat, Bob, Paul, Forrest, Jerry, John, Bob, et al). MR Drive (Guy and crew). Youth happenings (Claire & co.) Children’s Xmas party (Mike, Bob, et al). Charity Ball operation with Marty, Jim, Harold, Bob, Pat, Don and many other Knights. No doubt I have missed many events and private deeds, and I apologize for certainly I missed naming Brother Knights who helped organize, run and cleanup these events.
None of these heroes is looking for any thanks, and many prefer to remain anonymous in their gifts of time and talent to make these events a success. Last month, we acknowledged the first pillar of our order – Charity. Today, I would suggest that Unity is just as important – evidenced by the joy in the faces of those we help and serve.
Be a proud Knight, and be proud to be a Knight! Your servants, Ted and Matthew
Another FULL newsletter – there is almost too much happening these days…
P.S. – thanks to those Knights that pointed out the misprinted date for the St Patrick’s Dinner. (March, not April)
