Before you let someone install crown moulding in your home
Homebuyers and real estate professionals find crown moulding to be a desirable and valuable asset to any property. Whether you’re planning to sell your home or you just want to enjoy your home more, adding crown moulding or built in’s delivers a lot of bang for your buck. I specialize in architectural and
custom woodworking for residential homes. I work fast, clean and
cost-effectively, because we don't do general construction, painting, room additions, drywall,
etc. |

The SpectacularTrim 4-Step Process |
1) Consultation The first step is to visit with you at your home for a free design consultation and estimate. I will bringvarious samples of moulding profiles, and if you want suggestions, I'll give our ideas about what might look good in your home based on the height of your ceilings and the style of architecture. Once you select the profiles to be used, I will take very basic measurements of the rooms to be estimated and give you a price quote based on both the overall length as Ill as the total number of inner and outer corners in each room at that time. Upon receipt of a 30% down payment, I will begin the process of taking accurate measurements. 2) In-Home
Digital Blueprint The
next step in our process utilizes laser beam measuring devices to precisely
measure every wall and corner angle in each room. When I am done, I
have a digital blueprint of the entire work area, which I use to prepare your
material in my workshop. This process takes about 10 minutes per room.
3) Off-Site Material PreparationCutting mouldings on-site can create a tremendous amount of fine dust and mess so I avoid much of the on-site work and do much of the preparation in my shop. Working this way, I am able to eliminate the risk of making a big mess at your home and avoid the risk of tracking the mess through your home. In my shop, I cut every piece of trim for each room. I use a precision compound miter saw that isn’t moved from jobsite to jobsite to make accurate cuts, and all joints are machine-coped which creates extremely tight joints even when walls and ceilings are out of square. All parts are labeled and grouped by room then loaded for delivery to your home. 4) Moulding
Installation Installation is accomplished using various tools to ensure that the mouldings maintain the proper spring angle and ceiling projection. All outer corners are glued together using a state of the art 2 part fast setting glue to ensure joints do not come apart with seasonal changes in humidity. All inner corners are sprung into place to ensure tight corner joints. Final attachment to the walls and ceilings is done using 15 gauge cordless nailing technology instead of traditional compressor based guns and hoses to eliminate the chance of dirty compressor hoses leaving marks on your carpets. Nail holes and joints are immediately filled, and my helper and I move on to the next wall. |
