Gary and I got married at the Wing Lam Kung Fu School, which is our martial arts studio. It's a wonderful place; like many traditional kung fu schools, attending it feels more like getting together with your extended family. We did a classic California Roll of both Eastern and Western ceremonies: lighting incense and serving tea to my parents as well as his mother and Sifu and Simu, then speaking vows written by Gary and edited by yours truly. Our minister was Gene Ching, a dear friend from the studio who did an astounding job with the rest of the ceremony. We finished up with a lion dance and cut the wedding cake with a sword. The flowers set against the weapon racks were truly beautiful.
Unfortunately I can't invite you to check out pictures right now; until I get more disk space the wedding has been usurped by the latest trip to China.
