Many Catholics write many things about homosexuality. Just because a statement has the backing of a committee or is written by a theologian does not guarantee its truth. Unfortunately many theologians are so consumed by their own homosexual lust that they no longer are in touch with Jesus truth.
The Holy Father in the 1986 teaching "A Letter to the Bishops on the Pastoral Care of Homosexual Persons" warned against statements and teachings which were "studied ambiguities". The modern word for this is a "spin" on the truth, wherein new language is used to confuse the issue or restate it partially which fails to state the Catholic truth.
Also we are told that to fail to teach persons with homosexual inclination chastity is neither caring nor pastoral.
