Find out more about us, our transportation activism, and how you
can get involved.
Why We Need Ferry Service in Berkeley
Immediately after the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989, Berkeley had
working passenger ferry service (something which Berkeley enjoyed for nearly
100 years before the days of the bridges). Find out why Friends
of the Berkeley Ferry is working to restore this much needed form of
transit to our shore.

The Blue Ribbon Task Force
Friends of the Berkeley Ferry works locally, but we're part
of the wave of support and momentum to dramatically expand ferry
service throughout the San Francisco Bay. Read about the Blue
Ribbon Water Transit Task Force, an exciting, region-wide, ABAG-co-sponsored
transit initiative which has studied four "world class" ferry cities as
models for a new, advanced ferry system on the Bay.
