After the Loma Prieta Earthquake

The Berkeley Ferry came to the rescue for thousands of transbay travellers after the Loma Prieta Earthquake shut down the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge in October, 1989.  It carried as many as 1,500 passengers to San Francisco every day.
