AFFIRMED SUCCESS has won 2-of-4 since being switched to the turf by trainer Richard Schosberg. Winner of the Grade 3 Poker Handicap last July, he appears to be the division leader in a race that's shaping up to be very wide open.
HAP had his personal 4 race win streak snapped in the Kelso Handicap at Belmont Park last out. Now 7-for-10 lifetime, he was rated from off the pace by jockey Jerry Bailey but ran a disappointing fifth as the post time favorite. My feeling is that he may be a cut below some of the top-notch competition within the division.
