What is Pugad Baboy?

Literally translated, pugad is nest and baboy is pig, so Pugad Baboy means pigsty. Pugad Baboy is the #1 comic strip in the Philippines today. The strip is about a fictitious community that lies somewhere between Sampaloc and Kamias. Created by Pol Medina, Jr., Pugad Baboy's success relies on its ability to show the nuances of the Filipino Culture--both good and bad--through ingenious ways. The strip comes out weekdays in the Philippine Daily Inquirer. At last count, thirteen books have been produced from a compilation of the strips.
