America on Parade was by far our largest public performance.
Much effort went into selecting the material we performed
and into the rehearsals each week. When the day came to play
Tony called me and explained that he had thrown out his back
and could not load the equipment. Of course, we had already asked
for help with setting up and tearing down the stage (Thank you
again Frank Churchill and Don Dubocq). Tony did what he could and rested
his back that evening, and Tim and I met at Tony's house the next
morning and loaded the P.A. equipment... we were on our way. Setup
went smooth and we began right on time. We saw so many friends at
the festivities and had an incredible experience. How often can you
come to work and play music? well not often enough as far as I am
concerned.
