Paul Emmitt

Paul is 52 years old and began playing Folk Guitar in 1964 while in the United States Marine Corps, stationed at the Marine Corps Recuit Depot in San Diego. After Returning from Viet Nam he started school at a local Junior college, quickly learning that strumming guitar on the campus lawns was a much better way to fit in than discussing combat experiences, After transferring to San Francisco State in the early seventies he began playing in a local Rock band named "Turtle Whittfield". Paul started playing Harmonica in the mid 1980's playing along with Little Walter, Sunny Boy Williamson and Lee Oscar recordings during the commute to work. He also began going to JJ's jam nights Friday or Saturday spending the early evenings playing with the house bands. After several years "sitting in" Paul became confident enough to play harmonica and sing vocals in a blues band.
