TOKENS, MEDALS, AND COLLECTIBLES

MAIL  BID  SALE  # 73

Closes  Monday  February  18,  2008

MAIL  BID  SALE  RULES  AND  TERMS

1. Bids must be received no later than the above closing date,  All lots sold to the highest bidder.  There is no buyers premium or fee.  Ties go to bidder with the highest dollar total of winning bids, not to the earliest postmark or bid.

2. Minimum bid is $2.50 per lot, if not noted otherwise.  Unreasonably low bids may be rejected; unreasonably high bids will be reduced.  Bid a specific dollar and cents amount per lot.  Estimates where given are generally conservative.

3. Winning Bids over $20 will be reduced to a 10% advance over the next highest bid when possible, up to a maximum reduction of 50%.  Bids will not be reduced to under $20, except possibly when duplicates are available (in such cases, each of the top bidders get the lot at the same reduced amount).  High bids on bulk lots will not be reduced if the high bid is at or below the estimate given, which is the wholesale value of the lot; resale potential is at least 1 ½ to 3 times the estimate.

4.  Minimum sale is $5; if your winning bids total less than $5, they are voided.

5. You may phone in your bids 9AM to 8PM Pacific time.  No information will be given as to the status of your bids until the last 2 days of the sale.  See the next page for the phoning procedure to check or raise your bids, and for when the sale ends.  Mailed bids arriving on Tuesday morning after the sale closed will be accepted.  The sale results will not be revealed over the phone until Friday.

6. Established bidders will be sent lots with bill and invoice, one to 3 weeks after the sale closes. Others may be billed first.  Please pay promptly upon receipt of material or bill.  Actual postage and insurance costs, and a $1 packaging-handling charge, will be added to the bill.  Calif. Residents must pay sales tax.

7. The Prices Realized list is available for $1.25 (or 75¢ & SASE in advance). It is prepared and mailed about 3 ½ to 4 weeks after the sale ends.  A subscription  to the next 3 sales is $9.00 without PR list, or $12.00 with. (Canada $12 & $15, foreign $18 & $22.

8. Lots may be returned within 5 days of receipt if there is a significant error in the catalogue description or the material sent.  Check your bids for errors, and keep a record of your bids.  You are responsible for your errors, as I am responsible for mine.

9. The lot descriptions generally follow this pattern: Obverse / reverse; metal, size, condition, comments.  See next page for abbreviations.  The illustrations are pencil rubbings or photocopies of the actual specimens. Cities or states in  (    ) are not on the token; objects pictured and comments are also given in parenthesis.

Time to renew your subscription (see #7 above for rates). It is not essential to renew in order to receive the next catalogue, unless the box below is also checked.

This is a complimentary copy, or you are on the verge of being dropped from my mailing list. To continue receiving future auction catalogues, either subscribe or be a successful bidder in this sale.
