| K - Family Youth Service Organizations
We sponsor two kiwanis youth service organizations. We sponsor: Carlsbad High School Key Club and Valley Middle School Builders Club. |
| Meals on Wheels
In the 2002-2003 year, we served over 3000 meals to senior citizens. |
| Join Hands, Save a Life
Founded by Frank Sorino, this organization assists youth in the barrio of Carlsbad. In the 2002-2003 year, we donated over $2000 to the Join Hands, Save a Life organization. |
| Our
biggest fund raiser of the year is our Pancake Breakfast which is held
twice a year at the Carlsbad Faire on the first Sundays in May and November.
The breakfast is held from 7:00 am to 12:00 noon. Tickets are $4.00
in advance or $4.50 at the door. You can have all you can eat!
The breakfast features our fabulous pancakes, sauage, orange juice and
coffee. This project raises about $9000 per year.
We also raise at least $1000 each year for the Children's Hospital Miracle Mile of Quarters. In the 2000-2001 year we raised over $2000 for the Kiwanis International Project--elimination
of Iodide Deficiency Disorder (IDD).
